3-Ingredient Plant-Based Walnut Cream

What You’ll Need

  • 2 cups of California walnuts
  • 1 cup of water
  • A pinch of salt

What to Do

  1. Purée the ingredients in a blender for two minutes, or until they are light and fluffy.
  2. Store tightly covered in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve.

Our Savory Walnut Cream is excellent on top of soups or chili and can also be deliciously paired with other foods. To spice it up, try these flavor variations:

 

  • Chipotle: Purée your Savory Walnut Cream with two teaspoons of minced chipotle peppers, two teaspoons of adobo sauce from the can, ½ teaspoon of onion powder, and ½ teaspoon of salt. You can also add two teaspoons of fresh cilantro leaves and pulse to chop (optional). This concoction is an excellent topping on your favorite chili!

 

  • Onion Chive: Purée your Savory Walnut Cream with ½ teaspoon of onion powder and ½ teaspoon of salt. Then add three tablespoons of snipped fresh chives and pulse to chop. This cream pairs perfectly with a baked potato!
