Asparagus 'n' Shrimp with Angel Hair

We’ve all heard that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, so when I plan a romantic dinner, this shrimp asparagus pasta with angel hair is one dish I like to serve. It is easy on the budget and turns out perfectly for two.

- 1 bunch asparagus

- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

- 8 oz angel hair pasta

- Olive oil

- Salt

- Pepper

- Garlic powder

- Onion powder

- Red pepper flakes (optional)

1. Begin by preparing the asparagus. Wash and trim the ends of the asparagus, and then cut them into 1-inch pieces.

2. Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Once the water is boiling, add the angel hair pasta and cook according to the package instructions.

3. While the pasta is cooking, heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a drizzle of olive oil.

4. Once the oil is hot, add the asparagus to the skillet. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the asparagus is tender.

5. Push the asparagus to one side of the skillet and add the shrimp to the other side. Season the shrimp with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if desired). Cook for 2-3 minutes, until the shrimp is pink and cooked through.

6. Once the pasta is cooked, drain it and add it to the skillet with the asparagus and shrimp. Toss everything together until well combined.

7. Drizzle some olive oil over the pasta and season with more salt and pepper to taste.

8. Serve the asparagus and shrimp pasta hot, garnished with some chopped parsley or grated parmesan cheese, if desired.
