beef medallions with caramelized pan sauce

Beef Medallions with Caramelized Pan Sauce

This is one of those dishes that unless someone watched you make it, they'd never believe how fast and simple it is to prepare. By the way, this wonderful sauce would work just as well with pork, veal, or chicken.

Ingredients:

- 4 Beef Medallions

- Olive oil

- Salt

- Pepper

- Garlic powder

- Onion powder

- Dried thyme

- 1/4 cup brown sugar

- 2 tablespoons butter

- 1/4 cup beef broth

- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

Direction:

1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a drizzle of olive oil.

2. Season the beef medallions on both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried thyme.

3. Place the medallions in the hot skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness is reached. Remove from the skillet and set aside on a plate to rest.

4. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the brown sugar and stir until it begins to caramelize, about 2-3 minutes.

5. Slowly pour in the beef broth, stirring constantly, followed by the Worcestershire sauce and Dijon mustard. Stir until all ingredients are well combined and the sauce begins to thicken, about 2-3 minutes.

6. Place the beef medallions back into the skillet with the sauce and let them simmer for another minute or two, coating the medallions with the sauce.

7. Remove the beef medallions from the skillet and transfer them to a serving plate. Pour the remaining caramelized pan sauce over the medallions.

8. Serve the beef medallions with your choice of sides and enjoy your delicious and easy-to-make dish!
