Buffalo Wings

Having nothing in common with the actual buffalo nor the American bison, Buffalo wings are actually named after the place of their origin - Buffalo, New York. There are numerous stories about the origins of these mouth-watering chicken wings, but the one that seems the most authentic says that they were first served at the Anchor Bar in Buffalo.

Ingredients:

- 1 pound chicken wings

- 1/2 cup hot sauce

- 1/4 cup olive oil

- 1 teaspoon garlic powder

- 1 teaspoon onion powder

- 1 teaspoon dried oregano

- Salt and pepper, to taste

- Ranch or blue cheese dressing, for serving (optional)

Direction:

1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

2. Rinse the chicken wings and pat them dry with paper towels.

3. In a large bowl, mix together the hot sauce, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried oregano. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

4. Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss to coat them evenly with the hot sauce mixture.

5. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the coated chicken wings on the sheet in a single layer.

6. Bake the wings for 25-30 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until they are crispy and cooked through.

7. Serve the wings hot with ranch or blue cheese dressing on the side for dipping. Enjoy your homemade buffalo wings!
