Use storecupboard ingredients to make these moreish chocolate fudge crinkle biscuits. They make the perfect partner to a coffee as an afternoon treat
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar for rolling
Direction:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a medium-sized bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the olive oil, vanilla extract, and egg until well combined.
4. Slowly pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms.
5. Take a small amount of dough and roll it into a ball, about 1 inch in diameter. Repeat with the remaining dough.
6. Roll each ball in powdered sugar until fully coated.
7. Place the balls onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each one.
8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the tops are cracked.
9. Allow the biscuits to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
