Crispy Sticky Mongolian Beef

Super crispy pieces of beef coated in a sweet salty sauce = heaven in the form of a stir fry. PF Chang’s copycat – done right! Marinating the beef is key for packing in great flavour into every single bite.

Ingredients:

- 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced

- 2 tablespoons cornstarch

- 1/4 cup soy sauce

- 3 tablespoons honey

- 2 tablespoons brown sugar

- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 1 teaspoon grated ginger

- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

- 2 tablespoons olive oil

- Salt and pepper

- Sesame seeds (optional)

- Green onions, chopped (optional)

Direction:

1. In a small bowl, mix together the cornstarch and 1 tablespoon of soy sauce until well combined.

2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the remaining soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.

3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

4. Season the beef slices with salt and pepper. Add the beef to the skillet and cook until browned and crispy on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.

5. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside on a plate.

6. In the same skillet, add the soy sauce mixture and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes until it thickens.

7. Add the beef back into the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

8. Optional: Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions on top for extra flavor and garnish.

9. Serve the crispy sticky Mongolian beef over rice or noodles and enjoy!
