Easter egg cookies

Create the perfect cookie with a soft, chewy centre and crisp outer edge. Mini chocolate eggs, white and dark chocolate chunks make them an indulgent Easter treat

- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

- 1/2 cup granulated sugar

- 1 egg

- 1 tsp vanilla extract

- 1 tsp baking powder

- 1/4 tsp salt

- Olive oil

- Seasoning (optional)

- Dried spices (optional)

1. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until smooth.

2. Add in the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.

3. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

4. Slowly add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until a dough forms.

5. If desired, add in a dash of olive oil and any additional seasoning or spices for added flavor. Mix well.

6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.

7. Use Easter-themed cookie cutters to cut out shapes from the dough. Place the cutouts onto a lined baking sheet.

8. Optional: use a toothpick or knife to create designs or patterns on the cookies.

9. Bake the cookies in a preheated 375°F oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.

10. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

11. Serve and enjoy your homemade Easter egg cookies! These cookies can also be decorated with icing or sprinkles if desired.
