Easy Halloween cookies

Get the kids excited for Halloween with these spooky bat and spider cookies. Complete with 'squashed flies' made from chocolate chips, they'll be a big hit

Ingredients:

- 1 cup all-purpose flour

- 1/2 cup white sugar

- 1/4 cup brown sugar

- 1/2 cup butter, softened

- 1 egg

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

- 1/4 teaspoon salt

- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

- Olive oil for greasing

- Halloween-themed cookie cutters

Direction:

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius).

2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

3. Add in the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.

4. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

5. Slowly add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.

6. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.

7. Use your Halloween-themed cookie cutters to cut out desired shapes from the dough.

8. Place the cookies on a greased baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.

9. Once done, remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack.

10. You can enjoy the cookies as is, or use a piping bag to decorate them with melted white chocolate or icing to make them even more festive.

11. Serve and enjoy your easy Halloween cookies with friends and family!
