- 1/4 cup brown sugar

1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius).
2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Add in the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
4. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
5. Slowly add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
6. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
7. Use your Halloween-themed cookie cutters to cut out desired shapes from the dough.
8. Place the cookies on a greased baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
9. Once done, remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack.
