easy pork chive dumplings

Easy pork & chive dumplings

Try these Chinese dumplings filled with juicy pork and fresh Chinese chives. They’re easier to make than you think and fun to assemble as a group activity

Ingredients:

- 1 pound ground pork

- 1/4 cup chopped chives

- 1 tablespoon olive oil

- 1 teaspoon salt

- 1 teaspoon pepper

- 1 teaspoon garlic powder

- 1 teaspoon onion powder

- 1/4 cup water

- 24 wonton wrappers

- Soy sauce (optional)

Direction:

1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, chopped chives, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix all the ingredients together until well combined.

2. Lay out the wonton wrappers on a flat surface. Place about a tablespoon of the pork mixture in the center of each wrapper.

3. Dip your finger in water and run it along the edges of the wonton wrapper. This will help seal the dumplings.

4. Fold the wonton wrapper in half, making sure to press the edges together to seal the dumpling.

5. In a large non-stick pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, place the dumplings in the pan in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes, until the bottom of the dumplings are golden brown.

6. Once the bottom is browned, add 1/4 cup of water to the pan and cover with a lid. Let the dumplings steam for about 5 minutes, or until the water has evaporated.

7. Remove the lid and let the dumplings continue to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the bottoms are crispy again.

8. Serve the dumplings hot with soy sauce for dipping, if desired. Enjoy!
