gluten free salt and pepper tofu

Gluten-free salt and pepper tofu

A great dish to entertain with, serve up these crunchy Asian-style bites as finger food with toothpicks! Best served with thinly sliced red chilli, spring onion curls and toasted sesame seeds

- 1 package of firm tofu

- 1 tablespoon olive oil

- 1 teaspoon salt

- 1 teaspoon black pepper

- 1 teaspoon garlic powder

- 1 teaspoon onion powder

- 1 teaspoon paprika

- 1 teaspoon dried oregano

- 1 teaspoon dried thyme

1. Begin by pressing the tofu to remove any excess water. Cut the tofu into cubes or slices, whichever you prefer, and set aside.

2. In a small bowl, mix together the dried spices - salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, oregano, and thyme. This will be the seasoning for the tofu.

3. Heat a large pan over medium-high heat and add the olive oil. Once the oil is hot, add the tofu cubes or slices to the pan.

4. Sprinkle half of the seasoning mixture over the tofu and use tongs to gently toss and coat the tofu with the spices. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, until the tofu is golden brown and slightly crispy.

5. Once the tofu is cooked, sprinkle the remaining seasoning mixture over the tofu and toss again to evenly coat.

6. Serve the gluten-free salt and pepper tofu as a side dish or add it to your favorite stir-fry or rice bowl. Enjoy!
