Marie Rose sauce

This classic cocktail dressing is not just for prawns; it works fantastically well with salmon, in a burger or simply served alongside a bowl of crispy French fries.

Ingredients:

- 1 cup prawns, cooked and peeled

- 1/2 cup mayonnaise

- 1/4 cup ketchup

- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

- 1 tsp lemon juice

- 1 tsp hot sauce (optional)

- 1 tsp olive oil

- Salt and pepper to taste

- Lettuce leaves, for serving

- Dried parsley flakes, for garnish (optional)

Direction:

1. Begin by making the Marie Rose sauce. In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and hot sauce (optional) until well combined. Set aside.

 

2. In a separate bowl, season the cooked and peeled prawns with salt and pepper. Add olive oil and mix until the prawns are well coated.

 

3. Heat a pan over medium heat and add the prawns. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until they are pink and cooked through. Remove from heat and let them cool.

 

4. Once the prawns are cooled, mix them with the Marie Rose sauce until all the prawns are coated.

 

5. To serve, place a few lettuce leaves on a plate and top with the prawn cocktail mixture. Garnish with dried parsley flakes if desired.
