Make a whole solar system from your kitchen with our super cute planet cookies! The baking and decorating will keep even the most energetic children busy over the half-term break

Ingredients:

- 1 cup all-purpose flour

- 1/2 cup butter, softened

- 1/4 cup granulated sugar

- 1 tsp olive oil

- 1 tsp chili powder

- 1 tsp ground cumin

- 1 tsp paprika

- 1/2 tsp salt

- 1/4 tsp black pepper

- 1 tsp dried oregano

- 1 tsp dried thyme

Direction:

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, and olive oil until smooth and well combined.

3. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, pepper, oregano, and thyme.

4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until a dough forms.

5. Roll the dough into small balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch of space between each cookie.

6. Use a fork to lightly flatten each cookie.

7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.

8. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

9. Serve and enjoy your spicy planet cookies! You can also store them in an airtight container for up to a week.
