Prawn (Shrimp) Stir Fry

Got prawns? Got 15 minutes? Dinner is sorted with these plump and juicy prawns in a classic ginger sesame Chinese stir fry sauce, with snow peas and broccolini. It’s a Chinese restaurant standard!

Ingredients:

- 1 pound of prawns (shrimp), peeled and deveined

- 1 tablespoon olive oil

- 1 teaspoon garlic powder

- 1 teaspoon onion powder

- 1 teaspoon paprika

- 1 teaspoon dried thyme

- Salt and pepper, to taste

- Optional: chopped vegetables (such as broccoli, bell peppers, and carrots)

Direction:

1. In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Set aside.

 

2. In a large skillet or wok, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.

 

3. Once the oil is hot, add the prawns to the skillet and sprinkle half of the seasoning mixture over them. Stir fry the prawns for 2-3 minutes, until they are pink and cooked through.

 

4. If using vegetables, add them to the skillet with the prawns and stir fry for an additional 2-3 minutes, until they are tender.

 

5. Sprinkle the remaining seasoning mixture over the prawns and vegetables, and stir to combine.

 

6. Continue to cook for another minute or until the prawns and vegetables are evenly coated with seasoning and heated through.

 

7. Serve the prawn stir fry over rice or noodles, or enjoy it on its own as a low-carb option. Garnish with additional dried thyme, if desired.
