This is a classic sauce and can be served with so many different dishes, from Sunday lunch to savoury pies and puddings.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup red wine
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Direction:
1. In a small saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
2. Add the dried thyme and rosemary to the oil and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
3. Slowly pour in the red wine, stirring constantly to combine with the herbs and oil.
4. Let the sauce come to a simmer, then reduce the heat to medium-low.
5. Allow the sauce to cook and reduce for 10-15 minutes, until it thickens and becomes syrupy.
6. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
7. Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
8. Drizzle the red wine sauce over your desired dish, such as grilled chicken, steak, or roasted vegetables.
9. Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious red wine sauce!
