Sesame Beef

This sesame beef recipe is made with strips of round steak and chopped scallions marinated with soy sauce and garlic, then quickly stir-fried with sesame seeds. Serve with rice.


- 1 lb beef strips

- 1 onion, sliced

- 1 bell pepper, sliced

- 1 cup broccoli florets

- 1 cup sliced mushrooms

- 2 tbsp soy sauce

- 2 tbsp honey

- 2 tbsp sesame seeds

- 2 cloves of garlic, minced

- 1 tsp ginger, grated

- 2 tbsp olive oil

- Salt and pepper, to taste

- 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)


1. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, honey, sesame seeds, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using). Set aside.


2. In a large skillet or wok, heat 2 tbsp of olive oil over medium-high heat.


3. Add the beef strips to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until they start to brown.


4. Add the sliced onion, bell pepper, broccoli, and mushrooms to the skillet with the beef. Season with salt and pepper to taste.


5. Stir-fry the vegetables and beef together for an additional 3-4 minutes, until the vegetables are slightly softened.


6. Pour the soy sauce mixture over the beef and vegetables. Stir everything together until the beef and vegetables are evenly coated in the sauce.


7. Continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the sauce thickens slightly and the beef is fully cooked.


8. Serve the sesame beef stir fry over rice or noodles, if desired. Garnish with additional sesame seeds and green onions, if desired.
