Sheet-Pan Harissa Chicken & Sweet Potatoes

If you roast the sweet potatoes as indicated, your gift = creamy centers and crispy edges, enhanced by jammy red onions. Using bone-in thighs pretty much guarantees super-tender chicken too!


- 4 chicken breasts

- 2 sweet potatoes

- 2 tablespoons harissa paste

- 2 tablespoons olive oil

- 1 teaspoon salt

- 1 teaspoon black pepper

- 1 teaspoon garlic powder

- 1 teaspoon paprika

- Fresh parsley (optional)


1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).


2. Peel and chop the sweet potatoes into bite-sized cubes.


3. In a small bowl, mix together the harissa paste, olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.


4. Place the chicken breasts and sweet potato cubes on a large sheet pan.


5. Drizzle the harissa mixture over the chicken and sweet potatoes, making sure everything is evenly coated.


6. Use your hands to massage the mixture into the chicken and sweet potatoes, making sure they are well coated.


7. Place the sheet pan in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked and the sweet potatoes are tender.


8. Remove the sheet pan from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
