Try our take on veggie gyoza. These dumplings can be cooked from frozen and easily adapted with your own fillings. You can also use shop-bought gyoza skins.
Ingredients:
- 1 package of vegetable gyoza
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried ginger
- 1/4 cup water
Direction:
1. Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and allow it to heat up.
2. Place the vegetable gyoza in a single layer in the skillet. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and dried ginger.
3. Cook the gyoza for 2-3 minutes, until the bottoms are lightly browned.
4. Once the bottoms are browned, carefully pour 1/4 cup of water into the skillet. The water will sizzle and steam, so be careful.
5. Immediately cover the skillet with a lid and let the gyoza steam for 3-4 minutes.
6. After 3-4 minutes, remove the lid and let any remaining water evaporate.
7. Once the water has evaporated, let the gyoza cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to ensure a crispy bottom.
8. Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce, such as soy sauce or chili sauce.
